Investigating the relationship between surrounding temperature and resistance of a NTC thermistor
Lab reportIndividual workResearchGate
RESEARCH QUESTION
How does the resistance of a negative-temperature-coefficient thermistor change as the temperature around it rises?
Scientific background
In an NTC thermistor, more charge carriers are freed as the semiconductor warms, so resistance falls, roughly exponentially with temperature. That makes it a common, cheap temperature sensor, the same principle behind many of the sensors in hobby kits.
