What width and height should a smartphone have so that it can be held and used comfortably with one hand?
Scientific background
One-handed use depends on how far the thumb can reach across the screen while the same hand grips the phone. Hand dimensions vary from person to person, so a mathematical model has to balance a larger screen against the area the thumb can comfortably cover.
